While the number of male doctors remained practically constant between 1995 and 2022, the number of female doctors increased by 18,000. As highlighted in our latest publication on career choices, the increasing presence of women in highly–qualified, traditionally male-dominated professions has significantly contributed to reducing gender pay gaps.
